LCR Tourism Awards 2024

The LCR Tourism Awards 2024, held at the iconic Liverpool Cathedral was once again a prestigious event celebrating the region’s thriving tourism and hospitality sectors.

With its towering ceilings, vast interior, and architectural grandeur, the Cathedral provided a breathtaking but complex setting for a high-impact celebration driven by cutting-edge AV production.

Innovative staging

A sleek, modular stage was custom-built to complement the Cathedral’s grandeur while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. The design featured branded lecterns, step access, and discreet cable management, ensuring both functionality and elegance. Additionally, the stage backdrop was carefully designed to allow the spectacular architecture of the venue to be a part of the stage setting, enhancing the immersive experience while respecting the venue’s historic charm. The result was a visually striking and professional stage that seamlessly integrated into the historic surroundings.

Pristine sound

Ensuring exceptional sound quality in a vast venue with natural acoustics required a distributed and focussed PA system using line array technology. The system of choice was our highly flexible and powerful NEXO GEO and PS systems. Delays and carefully timed fills were implemented to improve clarity, allowing speeches and performances to be heard with precision. A combination of wireless lapel and handheld microphones ensured presenters and performers had the flexibility to move freely while maintaining clear audio.

Light up the atmosphere

A custom lighting rig was installed to highlight the Cathedral’s architectural beauty while setting the tone for the awards. Wireless uplighters, intelligent multi-beam moving heads, and gobo projections accentuated the soaring columns and vaulted ceilings, creating a warm, exciting and elegant ambiance. Dynamic lighting sequences enhanced key moments throughput the ceremony, such as award walk-ons and live performances, bringing the space to life.

Video content integration

To ensure all attendees had a clear view of the action, two large-format LED screens flanked the stage, displaying live camera feeds, nominee content, and branded visuals.

Multiple angles of the action on stage were captured using a three-camera setup, with a live vision mix and graphics control ensuring smooth transitions and engaging real-time content delivery to the LED screens.

Video captured on the night was used to create a post-production highlights video for the client to share on social media post event.
