Lighting Engineer
Are you a creative lighting professional with a passion for delivering unforgettable event experiences? MSP Global is on the lookout for a talented Lighting Engineer to join our growing technical team.
As a Lighting Engineer at MSP, you’ll be instrumental in delivering dynamic, creative lighting solutions for a wide range of high-quality corporate events. Based out of our Liverpool HQ and working across regional venues, you’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary technical team, responsible for setting up, programming, and operating professional lighting systems to meet diverse client briefs. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that requires a strong mix of creativity, technical precision, and adaptability. To succeed, you’ll need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working both independently and as part of a fast-paced team — always with a focus on delivering exceptional event experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Management
- Design of creative lighting systems for corporate events
- Ensure all lighting equipment is in working order and perform safety tests
- Arrange scaffolding, cranes or other rigging equipment as needed
- Rig lighting equipment on site ensuring all cables and lights are safely secured
- Position and plot lighting to achieve the desired effect
- Perform maintenance of lighting equipment of each hire
- Trouble shoot any technical lighting issues
- De-rig equipment at the end of a hire ensuring safe transportation and storage
- Possess IT and numeracy skills for operating lighting consoles and managing electrical loads
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues
Event Execution & Teamwork - Collaborate with AV, sound, and vision teams to deliver seamless productions
- Interpret briefs, client requirements, and CAD plans to build effective lighting designs
- Visit and assess locations for technical and logistical suitability
- Troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively under pressure
- Support colleagues across technical roles as needed during events
- Keep up to date with industry trends and developments in lighting technology
- Possess manual dexterity and a good level of physical fitness
- Perform effectively under pressure while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate attention to detail to achieve the desired lighting effects
- Possess a proactive approach to work
Logistics & Equipment Care - Ensure all equipment is securely packed, transported, and maintained
- Assist in warehouse operations, including kit prep and inventory checks
- Drive and deliver equipment to venues using company vehicles
Health & Safety - Adhere to all H&S policies and practices on-site and during transport
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment
- Knowledge and understanding of all H&S procedures and regulations

Working hours
Weekend and night-time working are integral parts of the job, and we consistently support our team to ensure they maintain a good work-life balance. A flexible approach to working hours will be required.
Holidays
- 29 days per year (includes one day for birthday)
- After 2 years continuous service rises to 32 days
- After 5 years continuous service 34 days
